Pura Vida!
Costa Rica is a small country in Central America with a big reputation for its natural beauty and laid-back lifestyle. The phrase "pura vida" is used to express a sense of happiness, contentment, and gratitude, and it's something that you'll quickly come to understand if you visit Costa Rica.
Costa Rica is home to a wide variety of landscapes, from lush rainforests to stunning beaches to active volcanoes. There are also many opportunities for outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, surfing, and fishing.
Earlier this month, I was fortunate to visit Costa Rica and experience pure vida firsthand. We drove ATVs through the mountains and fields and watched as locals taught surf lessons along the beaches of Tamarindo.
Costa Rica is the perfect destination if you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy the simple things in life. With its beautiful scenery, friendly people, and pura vida lifestyle, you will surely have a memorable vacation.

He has photographed presidents and heads of state, traversed the winding alleyways of the Fes Medina in Morocco, photographed the sprawling countryside and people that make up Argentina and covered events that have defined the U.S. Most recently, Murphy’s travels have taken him to Cambodia, Mexico, China, Vietnam and Ecuador.
He has spent the past 20 years specializing in agriculture photography for multiple organizations, publications and marketing projects.
A graduate of the University of Iowa, Murphy determined at an early age that his love of photography would shape his vision for life.
